Sime Darby Plantation & RSPO CertificationSime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd’s Upstream Operations is represented by 65 Strategic Operating Units (SOU) – each SOU comprises one oil mill and its supply base. The supply base consists of at least one estate and several smallholdings. In April 2008, Sime Darby Plantation announced that by end of Financial Year 2007/08, 10 of its SOUs would already be RSPO certified while certification of the remaining SOUs will be done gradually until FY 2010/11.In its quest to get RSPO certification, the Upstream Operations through the TQEM Department, is actively ensuring that all activities and initiatives connected to the Principles and Criteria of RSPO are pursued and implemented in total by all SOUs.
