Specific initiatives have already been undertaken to deliver progressive and sustainable annual synergy values of more than RM350 million beyond 2010.

Acknowledging that maintaining a leading position in the industry will present many challenges, Sime Darby Plantation’s strategies for expansion and growth for Upstream operations will focus on productivity-driven initiatives, while the future expansion of the Downstream business will be driven by niche marketing, technology-advancement and Research & Development (R&D).

The emphasis placed on R&D is to enhance productivity, explore new opportunities in biofuels and other agribusiness activities.
